ECVZine Presents: SUPERMAN
"Everyone You've Ever Met is Beautiful: Essays on James Gunn's SUPERMAN"

On Tuesday, November 18th, ECV Analog will release Everyone You’ve Ever Met is Beautiful: Essays on James Gunn’s Superman, a compilation of writings about the 2025 Superman film starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.

The collection will represent the first issue of the ECVZine, a square-bound, quarterly publication featuring a blend of original content and some of the best work to appear on the Emerald City Video blog. There will be numerous contributors to ECVZine, which will be edited by me (Russ Burlingame) and designed by Zach D. Roberts.

Upcoming issues of ECVZine will focus on some of the best movies ever to bomb hard at the box office; text; and text. The Winter 2026 issue of ECVZine will actually be structured as a children’s book, and tell a story that I’ve been waiting to share with the world for years.

ECVZine will be published in both print and digital; all print buyers will receive a free digital copy of the magazine. Print copies of Everyone You’ve Ever Met is Beautiful will begin shipping about two weeks after the release of the digital magazine. A share of revenue from digital-only sales will go to charity. You can preorder a copy here.

Everyone You’ve Ever Met is Beautiful will clock in at around 100 pages and feature about ten essays by myself; veteran pop culture journalists Tilly Bridges and Justin Epps; ECV contributor Kevin Allen; and the fandom blogger Number 22.

Kevin Allen is a writer with over 20 years’ experience in both fiction and non-fiction genres. He is the co-author of A Legend In His Own Time: A Fast-Forward Guide to the Greatest Hero You’ve Never Heard Of, and is currently working on his latest novel. He has done several mass-media projects, including shorts and voice work, in the world of comics and Jurassic Park.  Kevin currently lives in Michigan.

Tilly Bridges is the author of Begin Transmission: The Trans Allegories of The Matrix. As part of a team with her wife Susan, she’s writing the Star Trek Voyager: Homecoming comic series for IDW. They also wrote for Monster High (for which they won an inaugural Velma Award for LGBTQIA+ representation in children’s media), consulted on season two of Star Trek Prodigy, and wrote and directed the trans sci-fi short film Long Away, now playing film festivals worldwide. Upcoming projects include a YA queer trans romcom graphic novel from Mad Cave. Tilly’s essays on trans life can be found at tillystranstuesdays.com.

Russ Burlingame is the author of The Gold Exchange: An Unofficial Booster Gold Companion and the News Editor at Comics Beat. He lives in Syracuse, NY, with his wife and three kids.

Justin Epps is a writer from South Carolina and a lifelong comic book fan. He’s written for Screen Rant and ComicBook, covering comic book news, writing features and lists, and interviewing comics professionals. He currently resides in North Carolina with his partner and two cats, still writing about the Man of Steel and  creating short-form video content on his TikTok, The Coyote Gospel.

Number 22 studied the Western Canon in school. Now she dotes on A Tale of Two Cities and wants to be more like Jarvis Lorry. She wishes she had a vehicle like Tellson’s bank so she could redeem the hard knocks that hit her, in the service of young people.
